I do face to face session in Ashford, Kent and online sessions using zoom.
I am Soumya, I work with children and young people between the age 8-18 years old. I also work with young adults who are in University and need a helping hand to navigate the new challenges in their life, cope with change and adjust to adult life.
My training is in Social work and recently I'm training in family constellation work. I bring 15 plus years of experience working with children and young people, my coaching is focused on confidence building, personal growth and development, social emotional learning, managing exam anxiety, building positive relationship with self and others, peer pressure management, clearing limiting beliefs, managing and organising calendar and schedules, managing transitions, communication skills, conflict management, understanding cultural differences, perspective taking and mental health management.
I help children and young people by holding a safe, non judgemental space allowing them to get in touch with their intuition and access resources that help and support them, we find tools that will not only benefit them in their school/academic life, career direction but will help them to be proactive, get out of their comfort zone, be involved in the community, to engage with new experiences in life and have the tools for change and protect their mental health at all times - making a positive difference in the world without losing their true self.
As a parent myself and coach, I love helping children and young people to overcome challenges and gently guide and support them through tricky times. My coaching is rooted in Solution focussed and strength based approach.
My sessios are best suited for children and young people who are willing and open to receive support, who identify their issues and are keen to help themselves and contribute to their own self growth. I'm always amazed when children explore their full potential when they receive guidance and support at the right time, they are able to BELIVE IN THEMSELF AND ALWAYS HOLD THEMSELF WITH HIGH REGARD.
Soumya worked with my son who was struggling with high anxiety levels , finding school difficult and not wanting to leave the house alone. She built a positive relationship with him and she engaged with his interests in sessions, which got him talking. From this he worked on small goals to manage his anxiety and build his confidence. The approach worked and the experience was positive for him. We are all very grateful for soumya’s input, her care towards him and us as a family, it made a huge difference.
Soumya is easy to talk to and offers a warm friendly environment with so much useful advice and strategies to help me support my children through the various phases as they develop. She is also very supportive of me as a parent and provides me with strategies so I can cope with and do a good job through the various highs and lows of parenting. She is genuinely interested and often checks our wellbeing in between sessions. Soumya sends extremely detailed reports which includes her insights at the end of each session and it serves as a good reminder of how far we have come. As a parent, I would highly recommend her - she is always available to offer exactly the right encouragement, support and guidance needed. Thank you, Soumya…for all your invaluable help and advice.
