Reiki raises the vibrations in the body and works to heal and clear energetic pathways. I will place my hands lightly on or over areas of your clothed body, whilst channelling Reiki Energy to reduce stress and promote healing by encouraging a healthy flow of energy. Reiki is a way of guiding energy throughout the body to promote your self-healing abilities, as I act as a channel for the Reiki energy. My first experience of Reiki was walking into the unknown.
An acquaintance of mine knew I was going through a difficult time and set up a booking for me. I walked into a dimly lit room, with candles flickering, and a massage table in the centre of the room.
I went through some basics with the Reiki Master before I got comfortable on the table. I drew the blanket up over me and got cosy, closed my eyes, and enjoyed listening to the soothing music in the background. I recall ‘seeing’ a white light and thinking the curtains must have opened but the next thing I knew, the Reiki Master was telling me the session was over and giving me a glass of water (the curtains were still closed). The biggest and best experience I had in that moment was the realisation that my mind had gone silent, something I don’t recall ever happening before.
Afterwards, I felt like I had had a workout in my core muscles. My Reiki Master advised me to drink plenty of water, eat healthy foods, and rest as much as possible in the coming hours and days. I felt so relieved, like a weight had been lifted, yet fully grounded and sure of myself in a way I had never felt before.
